What You Should Know on Twin Tier vVintage Car Show

By: Sandy Maseko

Since car shows take place in many countries at different times throughout the year, few people are unfamiliar with them. Car shows can either be held by large car manufacturers, like the motor shows, or they can be held by smaller car clubs. For people with an historic interest in cars, the vintage car show is often their favorite.

Typically, the purpose of car shows is to show off new cars, which is why most are done by car manufacturers. It is not always new cars that take front and center at these shows however, as many times there are a small number of classic or vintage cars on display as well. The glamorous old vehicles are restored before they are presented to the legions of history and car buffs that love them. The history of the car show is not as glamorous as one might suspect, as its whole purpose was to put cars in a single area for people to buy. Naturally, this provides a boon to car makers who want to sell their products. These temporary show rooms developed into a competition.

Not content to be a mere place to display their cars, smaller car shows also include a contest. Many vintage car shows award prizes based on who has the most thoroughly restored car. Car lovers who attend these old car display shows will enjoy not only the pleasure of watching the cars, but in talking with the knowledgeable experts about the vehicles.

The people who try to find a winner must be very slow and careful in their examinations as they search for a winner. Judges see if the engine parts are all original, if the cars are clean and rust-free, whether they emulate the original characteristics, if every mechanism works and if the vehicles are road-worthy. These shows are good places to join your local vintage car club so that you will always know when another such event is taking place. By joining a vintage car club, you will be able to get lots of information, not only with the schedule of vintage car shows, but other pertinent information which can help you restore and maintain one of these prized examples.

So if you're a history or car buff and you want to see these old cars in action once again, simply buy a ticket to one of your local vintage car shows. So why is it people love going to vintage car shows? Well, with all the often bland and similar designs of cars today, the hard bodied box type cars of yesterday emit a certain aura of glamor and sophistication, back then, only a fortunate few can afford to own a car. People who feel this strongly about their cars get a great pleasure out of seeing them restored to the beauty they once had.
