Property Investors Are Choosing Brazil

By: Simona Coates

Brazil has been recommended as a potentially good investment opportunity by a US-based publication.

Property investors advised to consider Brazil NuWireInvestor said that since the country was the largest in South America, it had a wide variety of options available to foreign property buyers.

Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo were highlighted as two particularly popular destinations with both holidaymakers and investors.

This was said to have had a positive impact on the housing market in both areas.

The publication commented: "Brazil's two major cities have already been discovered by investors and tourists and the demand has driven up property prices.

However, it stated that other markets, including some in rural areas, also offered many opportunities to overseas property buyers.

NuWireInvestor told investors that they could still purchase and capitalise on "millions of acres" of terrain.

This comes after independent analysts at Amberlamb said that favourable coverage of the Brazilian property market in the UK was one of the reasons for its popularity among Britons.

Brazil has developed the basic fundamentals to support a thriving property investment industry, according to a new report.

Stability draws property hunters to Brazil Obelisk International has highlighted Brazil as one of the top emerging markets for property investment, on the basis of a strong economy, low house prices and the potential for significant capital appreciation.

The report points to house price growth of ten per cent already in 2007, as well as a low cost of living and the potential to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

"Investors may look to Brazil for their next investment move particularly as early entry into the market takes advantage of the high level of capital growth that is expected over the coming years," it continues.

Economic growth in Brazil has been impressive and Obelisk International has observed a simultaneous rise in the number of foreign property buyers. If the economy continues to improve, it seems likely that Brazil will only cement its reputation as a property hotspot in the years ahead.

"Brazil offers a fantastic lifestyle with a superb all-year round climate and the increasing number of charter flights from the UK will surely see demand for the purchase of second homes and the rental of holiday lodgings significantly increase," the report concludes.

There are, on the other hand, restrictions on the size and area in which foreigners can buy a house in Brazil. Once these have been negotiated, however, Brazil boasts some of the most impressive property locations in the world, with views that in other nations command much higher prices.

Brazil offers excellent prospects for strong returns - and the city of Natal is one settlement property investors should consider pouring their funds into, as work continues on the construction of a new airport nearby.

Natal in Brazil Brazil has the largest economy in Latin America and is the fifth biggest country in the world. It is currently benefiting from strong growth in the property and tourism sectors, making it an excellent destination for investment.

Tourist numbers increased by 134 per cent in the period between 2002 and 2005, and the government is hopeful that this total will reach around nine million visitors per year in the near future.

And Natal is one city that should benefit from this growth in tourism, according to Steve Worboys, managing director of investment company Experience International.

"Enjoying the best weather in Brazil and sunshine for most of the 365 days of the year, Natal is established as the number one beach destination for tourism in Brazil," he commented.

"Significant government advertising spend focused on tourism has seen an influx of major tour operators and record numbers of international tourists to the region."
